Addisons Video Debut!

Let me start off by reminding everyone that as I have mentioned before, I am not at all technologically advanced. Whether it be with computers, cell phones, camera's etc...I spend very little time on these items, and I keep it rather simple. I use them for whatever purpose I may need them for and then I am done. I hardly ever spend any time figuring out how to use "the extras". Heck, my 10 Year old sister taught me how to text message (literally. And she makes sure I know how slow I am). Even this blog has been a little bit of a leap for me. I am slowly but surely learning the ropes. Anyway, It seems as though lately I see many people taking videos with their camera's. I have kept telling Chad that I would like a new camera that has room for us to take Videos on it. Mind you, we have had our digital camera for nearly 3 years. Well the other day Addison was playing around with the camera she somehow figured out that we DO have video on our camera! After 3 years, who knew?! Chad said he knew it was on there, but he was obviously not listening to me when I said I wanted a new camera (thats a typically man). So I officially took our first video with our camera to share with you all. This was our first shot, so it came out alittle on the dark side. But Addison looks good in any light :) Here is her video debut!

Random-ness

When walking through my house it is not uncommon to come across Random items scattered across the house. Actually in most cases, they are Addisons new play toys. She loves to play with anything and everything she can. She makes me laugh like no other. I could sit and watch her for hours. She finds the most random things to play with and its funny to watch her play with them. Just yesturday I saw her chasing Cooper around the house trying to stick her baby doll's bottle in his face. He didnt find it so funny and hid under the table, but of course she pushed the chairs out of the way and got right down there with him! On a typical day it is not uncommon to find:
- A spoon in the dog toys
-Little people in my pots (For whatever reason everytime she plays with her Little People she goes and puts them in my pots in the kitchen)
-A spatchula in the Bathroom
-A crayon in the dog food
-Books in the tupperware cabinet
-And of course plastic strainers all over the house (she loves these things!)

Yes these are actually things I have stumbled upon. She always keeps me wondering what I will find next and where I will find it. She keeps me on my toes! She is actually very good and hardly gets into places she shouldnt, she just loves to explore.

While on the topic of "Randoms" here are a few new Random pictures I would like to share.

For your Comic Relief

First let me give you a bit of background information. For those of you who have visited our new home, you know we often have some friendly visitors, and yes they are ducks. There is a small pond behind our house and ducks just randomly walk around the block. Usually they come out every evening and go around to all the houses begging for food. They are like cats, if you feed them once, they just keep coming back. For those that keep up with our blog, you know that we recently put up a fence. Before a few days ago I had no idea ducks can fly over fences. Apparently they can.

We have had so much bad weather lately with all the storms passing through. The part of our backyard that is dirt, has turned into a muddy swamp and has been quite flooded. It was finally a warm and sunny afternoon so I decided to take Addison out in her little kiddie pool. Like always, I let the dogs out and I was helping Addison out the door when I suddenly heard a bunch of barking and squawking. I look up and there is a big duck in our yard and Cooper is attacking it. In the Mud none the less. I was tempted to sit and watch, because seeing Cooper try to duke it out with a duck would be pretty comical :) I quickly yelled out to Chad to come outside because "Cooper was attacking a duck!" He came out running to see what on earth I was talking about. As we looked closer we saw that not only was there a big Mommy duck, but 7 BABY DUCKS as well! The Momma duck was just protecting her little ducklings from ole' Cooper. Chad yelled at Cooper to get inside and He soon went hauling inside, Mud and all. I went chasing after him inside while Chad ran after the ducks. I found Cooper covered in Mud hiding under the bed. Go figure. Our house was covered in mud prints. I grabbed him and threw him in the bathroom. On my way out I grabbed some bread to use as some bait to see if I could entice the little ducks out of the yard with it. Chad grabs a big stick from the yard while walking through the mud and is trying to direct the ducks out with a stick while I am trying to bribe them out with bread (while holding Addison who kept yelling Duck! Duck!). Our plan sooo did not work. While Chad was trying to get the ducks out with a stick, the Momma duck freaked out and flew over the fence.! Not Good! The little ducklings start Freaking out! They all end up splitting up all over the place, 3 going one way, 2 going another...it was a mess. A few went out from the opening they came from and a few went out the gate door, but they couldnt find their Mom since she went to get the others. After a few minutes she came running back and found them and they all went waddling off. What an afternoon! I personally thought it was funny. As neighbors and onlookers watched as we were trying to get a bunch of ducks out of our yard. If somebody was watching from an ariel view, im sure they would have been laughing.

In the back of our yard there is a small 2" opening between the grass and fence. We never worried about it because we knew the dogs couldnt get out. The thought of ducks getting in never even crossed my mind. Chad saw them again yesturday in our yard. The baby ducks were all running along in the dirt as the Momma duck sat on top of our fence looking down. We finally put something to cover the area. So we are keeping our fingers crossed for no more intruders!
