A Thankful Thanksgiving

Hmm...What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had this year! This is the first Thanksgiving since we have been married, that we have been able to share it with family. My Mom and the whole gang were up to spend a few days with us. Addison loved being able to enjoy her first Thanksgiving where she could actually eat and socialize. Boy, did that girl put away some turkey, green bean casserole and mashed potatos! She ate leftovers for a a few days and loved it everytime.

It is hard to believe Christmas is almost here! I am looking forward to this Christmas more than I have any other Christmas. Once you have a child it makes it THAT much more exciting. I am able to see everything through her eyes and she gets so much pleasure out of the littlest things. We got her Christmas presents quite awhile back, but I am just itching to give them to her. I knew I would do that, so I made Chad throw them up in the attic because I wont go up there. As most of you know, Chad is gone right now. But he wont be gone for very long. We are anxious for his return :) Before Chad left we made sure to pull out all the old Christmas decor and put up our Christmas tree. Addison loves the tree. Everytime I turn the lights on she claps and says "Tree!" Surprisingly, she dosnt bother or really mess with anything on the tree. She is very good about it. She also loves to look at lights outside. Although when she see's lights at night she points and says "Tree!" lol, I think she has tree and lights a bit mixed up, so I am working on correcting her. She also says Elmo now, well actually she says Elbo. Its super cute to hear her say it.

Other than preparing for Christmas and missing Chad not too much else is going on. We are planning on having many visitors over the next couple of weekends so that will make time go by that much faster. We are looking forward to seeing everyone :)

Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving Day:

The bad luck streak continues....

My poor sweet little girl. Friday we went back to the Dr so he could check up on Addison and her condition. She seemed to be getting a little better throughout the week, but the two medications he gave her didn't seem to be doing much. So when Friday morning approached, we found out she had a temp. of 102.3 at the Dr's office. He listened to her lungs and said she still sounded very congested. Apparently the meds didnt do anything for her. He diagnosed her with Bronchitis :( He wrote us a Px for some very powerful stuff that he said should do the job, but he was surprised that the antibiotics that he gave her before didnt work. She just had a bug that just wasnt wanting to leave. So after yet another rough day Friday, we finally noticed a Huge improvement over the weekend. Her runny nose and cough stopped, and she seemed to be eating a little bit again. He wanted to see us again Monday after a weekend on the new medication. I took her in this morning and he said her lungs sounded wonderful and could see a huge improvement. What a sigh of relief!! I was so worried about her and felt awful when her medication failed the first time around.

But like I said her bad luck didnt stop there. Even though it seemed like she felt better, she was still fussy all weekend. Just not wanting to do much, play much etc...She just wants to sit and cuddle. Last night while brushing her teeth I decided to check out her mouth. Sure enough the poor girl is getting in 2 MOLARS! Both have already broke through on top, and her gums are very swollen on the bottom too.I know she is just in so much pain. Its just been one thing after another and I am more than ready to have my sweet, fun loving child again. I miss her...

Although not all is bad with Addison. She is also saying SO many new words!! Some she has been saying for awhile now, I just havent been updating. But here are some of her many new words: All done, All gone, uh-oh (most frequently used), yuck, fish, Mom, shoe, cheese, gator (we have one proud Daddy! Go Gators!), and no no. lol I know she says a lot more, I just cant remember all of them. But she is really catching on! Oh, also when we ask her what a lion says, she goes "Roooar". It is TOO CUTE! I will have to try to video tape it soon.

Thats about it for now! Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! We will update with new pictures soon!

Addison's rough week....

Actually poor Addison has had a rough couple of weeks. Normally Addison is a very cautious, careful and healthy little girl. She is never one of those babies thats all banged up and has a ton of accidents. Every once in awhile she does get hurt, and it seems as though it all comes at once. It started about 2 weeks ago when we were outside and Addison was playing with Chalk on the patio. She literally randomly fell, but she fell very oddly and landed on the side of her nose. It turned out to be a big booboo and she had a large scrape taking up the whole side of her nose. Poor girl looked like Rudolph. Then last weekend we were out eating lunch with Chads Mom and Sister and she smashed her face into table. Of course the table was granite and not your typical wood table. Seems as though she busted her lip and instantly started screaming and bleeding. We fixed her up and went on our way. A few days later I was putting away the laundry and had a dresser drawer open, Addison bent down to get something and hit her lip yet again, in the same spot. She had now hit her lip twice in the same spot...it wasnt pretty.

I thought her bad luck was ending there, but it continued. Addison woke up one day last week with a runny nose. Addison has never been sick mind you other than a runny nose and a cough that lasted one day (see one of my previous posts). But she has never ever had a temperature. We thought it was due to teething since the only other times she has had a cold was when a tooth was coming through. Well, she went into full blown, straight out being sick. She was coughing and hacking and after a sleepless night, I took her to the Dr on Monday. Turns out she has a Sinus infection and is very congested. He put her on a couple of meds, and wants to see her again on Friday to make sure she is clearing up. He didnt like to hear all the congestion in her lungs while she was breathing. Its been a rough few days, She had a rather high temperature on Tuesday but its going back down now. She also hasnt been eating at all, which anyone who knows Addison can tell you this is very unlike her. After a few days of barely eating and not touching her food, I made her some homeade mashed potatos and she did scarf those down (thanks for the idea Mom!). Today has gone a bit better though. She seems to have a bit of her appitite back, and I can tell she is feeling better, but not 100%. Luckily this happened this week, so she should be better by Thanksgiving. Ugh, when It rains it pours I suppose! I guess I cant complain too much. We went over 16 Months without Addison ever getting sick. She is like me I suppose. I rarely ever get sick, but when I do I am a tad bit dramatic :)Lets hope this is the end of her bad luck streak. I feel awful for my poor baby :(

Happy Halloween!

We had a great and fun Halloween this year. Last year Addison was almost 4 months and too young to really enjoy anything, this year I know she had a blast. We had a fun activity filled day which included pumpkins, hayrides and fun "Fall festivities". Later that night we over to some friends of ours house, who have a little girl a month older than Addison. Addison really seems to get along with her and its nice for her to have someone her age to play with. We went out with them and took the girls Trick-or-Treating to a few houses. Addison actually seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly. She would walk right up to the houses with her pumpkin basket in tow. Oh, she was Tinkerbelle and the CUTEST Tinkerbelle I have ever seen! She got a couple handfuls of candy, although none of which I will let her eat. Mean Mommy. But I did find some Halloween shaped Marshmellows I would allow her to have. I didnt feel as guilty giving her those. It was a late night for Addison, after we got back from taking the girls out they seemed to get pretty hyped up and played for a good while. We came home and she crashed. But she did amazing throughout the whole day, despite a very short nap! Here is our little Tinkerbelle :)

As Promised....

Pictures from my new camera! I must say that both Chad and I are in love with our new camera. I actually had to pry it out of Chads hands the day we picked it up. Lol. So far I have got some great pictures. We went to the park the other day and I really got some great shots of Addison. However since I am still new at the whole camera thing, some of them came out a bit blurry since I am not used to focusing and using the fine focus so much. We have now installed a Photo Shop program, but with all the new things I have to learn on the camera and the Photo shop program, It may take me awhile to figure out how to un-blur them. But as soon as I learn to edit I will post MANY More pictures!
Here are a few pictures from our Halloween! Addison had a great time craving Pumpkins and loved digging in the pumpkin. Typical Addison.
One of our first pictures!

The Best Husband Award goes to...

MY HUBBY! Chad has been so Great lately and let me tell you why. Saturday was our first date night in a really long time, so we were both looking forward to it. We had a nice meal and did some shopping. He took me to Best Buy and for my Christmas/Birthday gift let me pick out any camera I wanted! And I am not just talking a cheap boring digital camera. Oh no, Chad knows that I have wanted a really nice fancy camera for a loong time. I am always online and looking in the Sunday paper for the perfect camera. I am constantly drooling over them and Im sure my frequent use of the saying "One day when I get my nice camera..." gave him a nice hint. He has also realized that our digital camera is just slow. It takes a few seconds for the camera to come up etc...This one only takes .2 seconds to turn on and .1 second until I can take the first shot! It is a NIKON D80 Digital Camera. I have always really wanted a Nikon. You can learn more about it and view it here:
I actually do not have it as of right now. They did not have it in stock, so we had to purchase and order it and it will be in on Friday!! I am so excited and cant wait to get my hands on it! I dont think I am going to be able to put it down. I know it will take me quite some time to learn on the features and settings on it, but its a challenge I am ready to take. I know this camera will get more use than anything else I own. So look for some pictures soon!

That is not the Only reason why Chad is the BEST. Sunday morning My Mom and I were out with Addison and we figured we would let Chad sleep in. I come home and in 2 1/2 hours Chad had: Mowed and weeded the lawn, vaccumed, swept and mopped, made the bed, unloaded the dishwasher, and folded towels. What a Great Hubby! It does not stop there! Today Chad brought me roses when he got home from work! I knew I loved him! It was so sweet of him and Addison loves them too! Thank You Baby!

I feel as though we have had a lot going on lately. A few weekends ago Chads Family was in town, the next weekend we traveled to Charleston, and this weekend My Mom came to visit. But I like keeping a little busy. Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch kids place that had hayrides, a corn maize, animals and of course pumpkins. I had found this place months ago but it just recently opened. It was so nice on Saturday it was the perfect time to go. However our timing was alittle off. We went after lunch, figuring Addison would sleep the whole car ride for her nap. And she did. But she woke up pretty grouchy since she only got about a 40 minute nap compared to her usual 1 1/2 hour nap. But now we know. We all still enjoyed it and the weather was just great. Here are a few pictures from our trip:
Not liking the HayChecking out the goats and chickens

Surprisingly I was not the only parent doing thisBut She Loved it!She did a Great job picking Pumpkins!

Check back soon for some hopefully new and exciting Pictures!

Weekend Update!

Our trip to Charleston started off a little rough. We had planned on Chad getting off fairly early in the morning, but we had a minor set back and he didnt get off till mid afternoon. Then as luck would have it as we were loading up the car, it started pouring rain! Poor Chad was drenched. We waited for awhile for the rain to slow down, but it didnt so we braved it out and made a mad dash to get into the car. A little wet, we started our trip. It took us 3.5 hours and the rain followed us the whole way. We ended up having a great weekend, despite it raining the whole weekend. Addison got along Great with our friends daughter Anna (who just turned 4). I knew they would have a great time. I was also excited to finally do some decent shopping (Which is probably why I miss Charleston so much! Although my wallet is probably thanking me for moving...) However Chad didnt get to go golfing as planned, the weather just didnt cooperate with him. I know he was bummed. Iwas hoping to have pictures to share, but on the "Wives shopping trip" the boys had got some great pictures of the girls together. I wish I had them because they are really cute, but they werent on my camera. Here are a few I do have:Addison and Anna after an afternoon of Fun!All Smiles for Addison!
What can I say?? The Girl loves to vaccum!
Having fun at a Bouncey House!

On another note, Yesturday Addison had her 15 Month WBV at the doctors office. She did great until the Dr came in and started touching her. Lol...but here are her stats:

Weight: 20lbs 5 oz

Heigh: 29 1/2"

Percentile: She was in both the 25% for her height and weight

Chad and I were both way off on her weight. We thought she was going to be closer to 24lbs. The girl is no picky eater so I was a bit surprised. I guess she is a tiny girl. The Dr said overall she loooks great and said she has a great set of lungs! Which she was screaming at him the whole time so he got a pretty good look. He also said that she has great muscule development and is very strong for her little body. Which I find a bit funny because since Addison was a newborn Doctors have always told me how strong she was/is. Maybe we have a future gladiator on our hands! (Ha, dont think so!) I am thankful to have a very Healthy little Girl! :)

Update!

Sorry it has been awhile since my last blog. I have been in a bit of a blogging funk I suppose. I was hoping to be able to keep up with our blog more often, but better late than never. I feel as if we have been busy lately. This past weekend Chads family was in town. Chads boat was having a picnic and afterwards we were finally able to see Chads boat! Last time they did something like this, I was home for my sisters Bridal shower and I was unable to attend. It was nice to finally see where Chad works and were he spends most of his days. It was alittle bit difficult at times because I did have Addison in tow and the boat has some pretty tight spaced areas. Other than that it was great. I was hoping to have pictures to share, but unfortunately No Camera's allowed.

We are excited for this weekend because we are taking a trip back up to Charleston to visit a few friends for the weekend! We are really excited since we havent seen them since we left, and we keep in touch with them often. I know Chad is mostly excited to play golf with his old golfing buddy again! I will post back soon with how our trip went.

Now for the infamous Random Pictures....

Addisons Video Debut!

Let me start off by reminding everyone that as I have mentioned before, I am not at all technologically advanced. Whether it be with computers, cell phones, camera's etc...I spend very little time on these items, and I keep it rather simple. I use them for whatever purpose I may need them for and then I am done. I hardly ever spend any time figuring out how to use "the extras". Heck, my 10 Year old sister taught me how to text message (literally. And she makes sure I know how slow I am). Even this blog has been a little bit of a leap for me. I am slowly but surely learning the ropes. Anyway, It seems as though lately I see many people taking videos with their camera's. I have kept telling Chad that I would like a new camera that has room for us to take Videos on it. Mind you, we have had our digital camera for nearly 3 years. Well the other day Addison was playing around with the camera she somehow figured out that we DO have video on our camera! After 3 years, who knew?! Chad said he knew it was on there, but he was obviously not listening to me when I said I wanted a new camera (thats a typically man). So I officially took our first video with our camera to share with you all. This was our first shot, so it came out alittle on the dark side. But Addison looks good in any light :) Here is her video debut!

Random-ness

When walking through my house it is not uncommon to come across Random items scattered across the house. Actually in most cases, they are Addisons new play toys. She loves to play with anything and everything she can. She makes me laugh like no other. I could sit and watch her for hours. She finds the most random things to play with and its funny to watch her play with them. Just yesturday I saw her chasing Cooper around the house trying to stick her baby doll's bottle in his face. He didnt find it so funny and hid under the table, but of course she pushed the chairs out of the way and got right down there with him! On a typical day it is not uncommon to find:
- A spoon in the dog toys
-Little people in my pots (For whatever reason everytime she plays with her Little People she goes and puts them in my pots in the kitchen)
-A spatchula in the Bathroom
-A crayon in the dog food
-Books in the tupperware cabinet
-And of course plastic strainers all over the house (she loves these things!)

Yes these are actually things I have stumbled upon. She always keeps me wondering what I will find next and where I will find it. She keeps me on my toes! She is actually very good and hardly gets into places she shouldnt, she just loves to explore.

While on the topic of "Randoms" here are a few new Random pictures I would like to share.

Addisons First Pony Ride!

For your Comic Relief

First let me give you a bit of background information. For those of you who have visited our new home, you know we often have some friendly visitors, and yes they are ducks. There is a small pond behind our house and ducks just randomly walk around the block. Usually they come out every evening and go around to all the houses begging for food. They are like cats, if you feed them once, they just keep coming back. For those that keep up with our blog, you know that we recently put up a fence. Before a few days ago I had no idea ducks can fly over fences. Apparently they can.

We have had so much bad weather lately with all the storms passing through. The part of our backyard that is dirt, has turned into a muddy swamp and has been quite flooded. It was finally a warm and sunny afternoon so I decided to take Addison out in her little kiddie pool. Like always, I let the dogs out and I was helping Addison out the door when I suddenly heard a bunch of barking and squawking. I look up and there is a big duck in our yard and Cooper is attacking it. In the Mud none the less. I was tempted to sit and watch, because seeing Cooper try to duke it out with a duck would be pretty comical :) I quickly yelled out to Chad to come outside because "Cooper was attacking a duck!" He came out running to see what on earth I was talking about. As we looked closer we saw that not only was there a big Mommy duck, but 7 BABY DUCKS as well! The Momma duck was just protecting her little ducklings from ole' Cooper. Chad yelled at Cooper to get inside and He soon went hauling inside, Mud and all. I went chasing after him inside while Chad ran after the ducks. I found Cooper covered in Mud hiding under the bed. Go figure. Our house was covered in mud prints. I grabbed him and threw him in the bathroom. On my way out I grabbed some bread to use as some bait to see if I could entice the little ducks out of the yard with it. Chad grabs a big stick from the yard while walking through the mud and is trying to direct the ducks out with a stick while I am trying to bribe them out with bread (while holding Addison who kept yelling Duck! Duck!). Our plan sooo did not work. While Chad was trying to get the ducks out with a stick, the Momma duck freaked out and flew over the fence.! Not Good! The little ducklings start Freaking out! They all end up splitting up all over the place, 3 going one way, 2 going another...it was a mess. A few went out from the opening they came from and a few went out the gate door, but they couldnt find their Mom since she went to get the others. After a few minutes she came running back and found them and they all went waddling off. What an afternoon! I personally thought it was funny. As neighbors and onlookers watched as we were trying to get a bunch of ducks out of our yard. If somebody was watching from an ariel view, im sure they would have been laughing.

In the back of our yard there is a small 2" opening between the grass and fence. We never worried about it because we knew the dogs couldnt get out. The thought of ducks getting in never even crossed my mind. Chad saw them again yesturday in our yard. The baby ducks were all running along in the dirt as the Momma duck sat on top of our fence looking down. We finally put something to cover the area. So we are keeping our fingers crossed for no more intruders!

"Doggies" the word

Doggie is Addisons first official word! She has actually been saying it for quite awhile now, but I wanted to make sure that I was hearing it correctly before I made it official. Anytime she see's a dog, of any type, size or color, she will point and yell "Doggie!" She can also point out a doggie in any of her books or on anything we see at the store. The other day she pulled out 4 ads from the paper that all had doggie's on them. She also says:Dada, Daddy, Doggie and she tries to say duck. I am noticing a trend in the "D" words. She hasnt quite mastered Mommy yet, but I am not giving up hope yet. She also is pretty close to saying kitty (itty). There is a kitty across the street that comes over every time we open the front door. She gets so excited and loves to pet the cat. She is such an animal lover!

She has also mastered some good listening skills! She can do pretty much anything I tell her to do. Here are a few things she listens and answers too:
-when I ask her for a kiss or hug she will give me one
-when you ask her where her baby doll is she will look around the house for it- same with her stuffed animal "Piggy" she then proceeds to kiss them everytime
-when I say lets take the doggies out she runs to the back door
-when I tell her to give them a "treat" she goes and gets the box of dog treats
-when its "Bye bye" time she goes to the door
-when I say "Milk" she will go to the fridge
-when I say lets brush your teeth she opens her mouth big and wide and goes "Aaaahhhhhh" all the way to the bathroom (this one is hilarious!)
-when we say "night night" she goes in her room
There are also a few other things, but she is picking up on Key words that I try to use frequently so she will pick up on them. She is also living up to her nickname "Addy-tude". She has recently started throwing spouts of temper tantrums, so now the time has come to teach her rules and set boundaries. And I thought getting her to take a nap was hard! Sometimes I wonder where my sweet little innocent baby went...

Weekend trip to Savannah!

So after Chad worked 18 days straight, they finally allowed him to have a 3 day weekend. We decided to do something Fun for ourselves since the past couple of weeks have been very long and rough. We decided to go to Savannah since Chad and I had both wanted to go for sometime. Since Chad had off on Friday, we got up pretty early and made the trip up to Savannah. It only took us 1.5 hours so we could have easily made a day trip out of it, but we didnt want to be rushed and I wasnt sure how well Addison would do walking around the whole day, so we decided to stay the night Friday and leave sometime Saturday. We did a lot of walking around on Friday, doing all the "touristy" stuff. Addison did amazing. She just sat in her stroller the whole time while we walked around without making a sound. We had a lot of fun, but it was just VERY Hot! Here are a few pictures...One main attraction we wanted to visit while in Savannah was Paula Deen's restaurant "Lady and Sons". I am a huge fan of hers and really, really wanted to go. Secretly, I know Chad really wanted to go too! To get reservations we had to get up really early Saturday morning. They didnt open till 11am, but they started to take reservations at 9:30. We got there at about 8:45 and there was already a line about a block and a half long! And it only got longer. So we waited in line for 45 minutes. Addison was good the whole time we were standing there. After waiting we got reservations for 11. So we ate lunch there and had a really good time! It was worth waiting in line for and I am really glad we went! It sure was an experience, and as a souvenir I got a shirt that reads "Hey Y'all!" :)

Outside "The Lady and Sons"
Chad And Addison patiently waiting in line...Addison trying some of Paula Deens Banana Pudding! It was nice to finally have some Family Time again!
